Film Production Roles

Music Supervisor
To gather music that will be in the film.
Music Supervisors negotiate deal points and contracts, prepare budgets, and attend scheduling meetings and spotting sessions. They oversee the composition process, ensuring that the required music is being written, listened to, and reported upon
To see where and when what certain music is being played.
To be able to gather music that works well with different aspects of the script.
Actors
To Act as a character in the film
Actors are responsible for rehearsal attendance, punctuality, line memorisation. Failure to adhere to responsibilities means being asked to leave the show.
To read and memorise there given lines as well as understanding the plot of the film.
To be able to change into character at any given m moment  and to be able to stay in character.
Editor
To edit many large clips in to a film in a way that satisfies the director and producers
To make sure that clips are being edited to the director and producers needs as well making sure they edit within the given time frame.
To edit the production in line and with in flow of the script.
To be able to edit videos in a high class quality.
Cinematographer
The job role of a cinematographer is to make sure all the camera equipment is there and how they will transport the equipment to different locations.
The cinematographers are responsible for making sure that all camera equipment is at the correct place in fully working condition.
To make sure the correct camera and equipment are being used in the specific sections of the script.
To be able to recognise different cameras and equipment as well as being able to acknowledge good scenic shots.
Costume Designer
Costume Designers' work helps to define the overall 'look' of film productions They work closely with the Production Designer to make sure the costumes fit in with their overall vision and work with the chosen lighting and camera angles.
The costume designer responsibility is to make sure that the costumes will fit each actor correctly and that the costume is not offensive or too revealing .,
The costume designer will use the script to determine what is going on I n the film at that time and then design a costume based on that basis.
To be able to design a unique costume that meets the directors vision.
Art Director
To facilitate the production designers vision for different locations and sets to give the film a unique identity as well as being responsible for the art department budget and spending’s.
The art directors’ responsibility is to manage the budget and schedule of work and help the production designer to maximise the money allocated to the department.
The art director will use the script to determine the setting and location of the scene.
To be able to spot filming locations that meet the directors visions.
Production Designer
Production designer are responsible for the visual concept of a film production. They identify the design style, sets, location, graphics, props, lighting , camera angles and costumes whilst working with the director and producer.

The production designer will use the script to help determine set and shooting locations.
To be able to spot filming locations that meet the directors visions.
Screenwriter
To develop scripts from an idea into a film production script which can be read by all types of people in the production scene
Screenwriters are responsible for translating an idea into a visual script in which the actors and other crew members can read from.
The screenwriter will write the script.
To be able to write a script in a professional manner.
Director
To control a films artistic and dramatic aspects as well as trying to visualize the script and trying to portray that vision to other crew members such as camera men and actors
The director is responsible for the movie in a whole and responsible for how the movie comes out.
The director will use the script to set a base and to try to visualise ideas of how to create a film from the script.
To be able to manage a large crew of people who may not always work in sync and to also help portray his visions to the crew.
Producer
To oversee a project in a production to make sure that all deadlines are met and that no budget is overran
The producers a responsible for making sure that all budgets are tight and within the cost of the production as well as making sure everything gets done in time.
The producer uses the script to help scout shooting locations and that the correct amount of money is being allocated to each department.
To be strict and well organised in order to manage all deadline and budgets.
